amazing game. Got to the dragon but couldn't beat it (is it actually killable or am I just trash? lol) however, I love the game look, and its suprisingly easy once you get the controls down. The only main problem is blue drakes but just go to a hallway to prevent the water balls from hitting you and kill the drakes following you then just rush the blues after killing the melee drakes. I played on normal mode, but it was fun.
Hey, thanks. Glad you enjoyed your time with the game.
The boss dragon is indeed beatable. When you knock her down, you have to circle around behind her and hit her in the butt. Those are the only hits that count. Otherwise you'll just keep knocking her down over and over again. The implementation for that is just a bit shoddy and sometimes you may not have enough time to actually get a hit in, in case you're on low stamina and can't get there quick enough, but it's not too hard once you know what to look for.
while I think that's a cool system, I didn't actually even know that. you should have something to tell you about things like strafing, how to (s)lay the dragon. (you might have, I'm not sure cuz I didn't read very much but I clicked quite a few of the orbs so I am not sure.) yet again, I love the game and even then, its still fun and challenging. also having the menu pause the game would be nice as I had to die once from needing to quickly get up and do something.
You're right. I completely forgot I added controller support with the update some time back. Sorry about that. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. I tested it out on my end here and there didn't seem to be any issues I ran into using a controller. Any controller that follows the standard XBOX/PS controller layout should work and if it doesn't, I don't know why it does not.
i connect my controller to my computer and the computer registers it and the controller is working however when I start the game and try to use the controller in the menu or after starting the game it doesn’t work or register the controller inputs I don’t know if when i downloaded it it did not download everything or something was corrupted during it
Like is there a keybind or option that allows me to swap to controller or not? I may be blind and did not notice it in the options but i didn’t see it in the description or in the game options
No, there's no any specific options. The game is super crudely made and the inputs are hard coded in a way where the game only listen to specific inputs at all times, either from the keyboard or the controller without any options to toggle them on or off. There are two versions of the game available for download though, the old version and the updated one. If you downloaded the older version by mistake that would explain why the controller doesn't work. I didn't include a version numbering anywhere in the game either, because it's an old project for a game jam I made with limited knowledge, full of trial and error and it didn't actually even come to mind to include one back then, so the only way to know which version you have downloaded is to double check the file you got.
First of all I enjoyed this game very much, even tho I couldn't yet finish it. It's too difficult (Blue Drakes are too difficult and annoying) for me, and after what felt like an hour of gameplay I died because of having like 5 enemies at once? But still I haven't had such an amazing time with any nsfw game yet I feel. It was just so different from everything else.
I love how coherent this whole experience was. You wanted to make this ancient type of rpg and you succeeded. Gameplay was annoying and janky which was awesome. I can't recall if you said through the orbs wheter this gameplay was supposed to feel nicer or if it was what you wanted, but I felt like it really was a game from that era.
Visuals were also on point. You left a message on one of the orbs that you didn't like how the textures turned out, how you can't design a map etc. But what you created still managed to sell that feel of a 90s rpg. Low res terrain, that weird (lovely) water texture, fantasy pedestals to add something interesting to otherwise plain dungeon. All that worked perfectly with each other.
And of course Drakes themselves. When I died for the first time I gasped at how hot the animation was. I have a thing for scalies and these animations that you made were insanely hot. Both animation and models. That dommy, brutal feel of intercourse with them was something else. Just these thick scalie bodies moving with every gesture, man.. I like how basic, yet full of detail their models were, you have created a very interesting contrast with it. Their heads look a bit goofy tho, reminds me of the dragon from Shrek, was that your inspiration?
I would love to say much more, but writing game reviews is NOT my strong side. I love this game, I will try to finish it, and I really really hope that you won't stop making games, because you have a talent. If I could I would even pay you some money as a form of support. Thank you for this game <3
Hey, thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the game even if it is a bit simplistic and very janky. Making the game was a bit of an experiment and I pretty much was learning the engine as I went. Same goes for the coding too. Basically the first attempt for a 3D game for me.
The models are a bit goofy yeah. They actually look quite a bit more weird outside the game, but the low resolution and lack of lighting somewhat hides the fact. And the dragon from Shrek was an inspiration yeah. The final boss is basically the dragon from the movie.
The NSFW animations are a little simple in variety and pacing too, due to not having a whole lot of time to plan and animate them all (it was a game jam game) so I kind of just hastily put together something and hoped it didn't break too much in the end. Happy to hear they did the job though.
When it comes to difficulty the game should never throw more than 3 enemies at you at once, though it is possible to end up pulling more than that if you skip encounters. I didn't really design the dungeon in a way where moments like that aren't impossible. Like you read in one of the pedestal thingies: I'm no level designer and was just trying to put something together before the time was up for the jam. :D
I haven't given up on making games. I've just been refining my coding and designing new things, trying out different ideas, but I'm progressing quite slowly. Currently I'm working on something a bit similar to this game here. More refined, less awful to play etc. a more proper game, but I've no guarantees it'll ever get to a point where I can actually present any of it here.
The newer version isn't much different from the older one. I fixed a couple of bugs. Added a save for the extra menu once it's unlocked and changed the controls around just a little bit to make them "less awful" but thanks.
I'm currently working on something a bit similar, in the same spirit. But I have no estimates when and if it'll actually make it there.
I think strafing is now either by pressing Q or E keys, after the small update some time back. If that doesn't work, try holding the X key and pressing the turning keys.
Honestly I think the gameplay had a solid idea, except for the blue drakes. Having a frustrating ranged enemy is fine, but they need to go down really fast once the player gets to them.
The blue drakes are probably the first target you should chase down before focusing any of the other drakes, they can be frustrating to deal with.
I'm glad to hear you like the premise of the game. I like it myself and I'd love to push out a new game that has the same basic idea.
That being said, I'm currently working on something new, which I hope will turn out a bit better since it's not a project I need to crack into shape within a strict time limit. Though I can't say when I'll have something decent enough put together for itch.
There's a kind of a gallery that you unlock if you interact with a specific "hidden" pedestal. Nothing fancy though. It just allows you to replay all the NSFW scenes between enemies and the boss dragon.
The particular pedestal is the white one, standing alone at the end of a bunch of narrow ledges that talks about "voices" and "the main menu." You've got to exhaust the 4 or so lines of dialogue from it which after you should be able to see a new extras section in the game's main menu.
At that point you can just close and relaunch the game and it should be there.
Heck yeah horny King's Field with dragons sign me up
Animations were great, models were great, had a good time.
Only real complaint I had is the red orbs were kind of depressing... Game development is hard, cut yourself some slack! Considering short deadline and such I think it turned out really good! And was this a solo project? Good on ya.
There were a couple of entries about "I wanted this, but had to cut it" and just know that that's unfortunately very normal for game development. Especially when time constraints get involved.
Another thing you mentioned in the orbs was some qualms with game or level design so figured I'd mention the youtube channel GMTK (Game Maker's Toolkit)
He talks about a bunch of different aspects of game design and is a highly recommended watch from me if you feel a need to improve in that area.
Yeah, the whole project was a bit of a struggle to put together that quickly. Part of me wants to re-visit the game and build a new, enhanced version of it from scratch at some point.
After a year of learning how to code properly and make "video games" I still find level design to be perhaps the most difficult aspect of the entire process. The YouTube channel you suggested seems to have plenty of neat videos concerning game development overall. Think I'll take a look.
This was really fun, the bossfight takes too long for my taste but I love all the animations and the style. Do you have anywhere we can follow you/support you? I would love to see more in the future.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked the game even if it is very crude and hastily put together.
I've no other sites beyond this very itch page here. So if you'd like to keep an eye on when and if I release anything new, this would be the place. I do have several projects on going, but none of them have made it to a point where they could be released as actual games though.
The most likely reason why the game wont run would be if you're using an older laptop with an integrated graphics chipset. Beyond that I can't really say what's wrong with it. The game runs on my own computer normally.
Hi I know this is an old comment but I'm having a similar problem I can boot the game and start but once it loads it stops responding? I've had issues godot before but the menu worked great and so I figured the game would too do you recall if it uses vulkan or opengl? If its the former that would explain it
I'm fairly sure Godot uses Vulkan by default. I can only hazard a guess that if you're using an older laptop or a very old video card, they might not have the proper support for it which can cause issues running the game.
I could always look into it, but changing the rendering pipeline might break the visuals and other graphical features that are part of the system the game is built on. The game's quite old now and a little bit of a mess, so to speak, so don't hold your breath.
It's a bit cryptic, but if you haven't already given up completely and couldn't figure it out yet, you need to defeat and smooch all the enemies along the way. There are two gates, the second one allows you to skip one or two enemies. I can't remember anymore exactly how many.
Game dev is really difficult, I agree. It's not too hard to make a bunch of separate systems, but putting them all together in a way where they work along or with each other is the most difficult part.
I've slowly been working on something new for the past month or two as time allows and with any luck there could be something new here before the year ends.
I haven't decided yet if I want to release something unfinished, akin to an early demo or a vertical slice or if I should finish the entire project before I put it out here.
You also need to find and interact with the special in game pedestal a few times.
The "updated" game doesn't actually even care about if you beat the dragon in the end anymore (or I think that's how I changed it a few weeks back). The data is saved the moment you go through all its dialogue and after that you can shut down the game and the menu should be there.
ah that would explain it. I think i missed the first couple of pedestals as I didnt realize I needed to continue interacting with it, i found out later they had multiple sentences but by then I couldnt back track, oh well that just gives me a reason to play through again, Thank you!
If you have the updated build, Q and E on the keyboard strafes you left and right. On a controller left stick does the same. If you're playing the old build, strafing is a bit clunky to do. You have to hold down the X key (I think, if I'm not misremembering) and then instead of turning you'll strafe.
I KNOW YOU USED GS OST, I just can't remember the names of each track used. I grew up playing golden sun and this is the first time I've seen (or in this case heard) this series referenced in anything outside of youtube and niche forum posts and its a porn game about fucking dragons... I'm not sure how to feel about this but I'm glad to see someone else enjoyed the games enough to add tracks from it to their project. You've earned my endorsement for what that's worth.
The OST for GS goes hard, I agree. Somebody had made a great remastered versions of the tracks and was sharing them online, so I picked a few of my favorites. Sorry it had to be a porn game you finally got to hear the tunes in.

you know, i didnt expect to get pissed on by the shrek dragon in a low res melee combat game today.
iono about that other guy but controller had no issues, game do be hard on hard :okhand:
Just remember to hit the shower afterwards. Being drenched that way might come with a bit of a stench.
i cant get controllers to work
Sadly, the game doesn't support controllers.
then why do you have controller button scheme/layout in the game description?
You're right. I completely forgot I added controller support with the update some time back. Sorry about that. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. game too difficult (tedious, actually) , and i don't know how much longer till i reach the boss. so i quit.
Yeah. I agree with you. It is quite tedious. Not everybody's cup of tea. Thanks for trying the game out anyway.
Heck yeah horny King's Field with dragons sign me up

I can't open the game, it's not an .exe file, it's a .7z file
The game's exe file is packed in the zip file. You need something to extract its contents with, such as 7-zip.
please fix the game it won't open

Because she's the best dragon. ~
